So I've been a mom for a fairly short time now compard to many, but it seems that finding creative ways to save money, or get things free, has become somewhat of a natural talent of mine. Money seems to really be the big issue when it comes to having kids, but I'm going to tell you that it definitely does not have to make or break the situation. My husband and I were 22 and had been married a month when we got pregnant. While for some it may be the goal to get pregnant right away, it was not the case for us. We were thrilled, of course, but a lot of worries came with it, which I think can be true regardless of if you're married, how old you are, or whether or not it was planned, because that dreaded question of "can we afford to have a baby" always comes up.
Well, for us we really didn't have a choice at that point, we would make it work! So I have learned a TON in the past little bit about all the different ways that there are to save money. I had done a lot of research, so a lot of this isn't necessarily new stuff (although a lot of it may be to some of you), but I found that in a lot of my searches, many things we outdated and no longer true, while many others mixed in a lot of useful things with not so useful things. I have now been told by many people around me that I should just start a blog about all of my useful tips on saving money and getting free stuff, so I'm giving it s try. I have taken the liberty of weeding out the not so useful things and plan to put the useful ones all in one place here in this blog so that you won't have to go through so many "how to save money" searches! And I solemnly swear that none of these will include extreme couponing that many of us just don't have the time or the patience for. The majority of it takes very little effort on your part, and let's face it, that's really how we prefer most other things when you learn that raising a child will take up most of the effort you have!
So stay tune for some really great tips and resources! I hope they help you as much as they've helped me!
